Creative Encounters with Science

MARCH 20-21

Saturday March 20th 10AM – 12PM
Sunday March 21st 1PM – 3PM

We are a program focused on engaging youth in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM), using fun and engaging hands-on activities delivered through our after-school clubs, workshops, and summer camps! As a network member of Actua, Creative Encounters is proud to be part of Canada’s largest STEM outreach organization, which reaches over 350,000 Canadian youth each year whilst focusing on initiatives like improving digital literacy through computer coding, all-girls programming, and Indigenous outreach.

For this year’s virtual edition of College Royal, we wanted to show you what our instructors have learned about Artificial Intelligence (A.I.) through their work to develop curriculum that elementary school teachers can bring to their very own classrooms! So, what is AI? How does it work? What is its impact? Learn the answers to these questions and more through our interactive Zoom presentation (Saturday @ 10am & 11am, and Sunday @ 1pm & 2pm) which will feature interactive games and tools that will help you understand more about the incredible world of AI.

Check out this short video to see what we are all about!

Interested in Artificial Intelligence? Check out our video on the “Uncanny Valley” between visiting our live chat which will delve deeper into the world of AI!

During the live chat sessions, our student Instructors will present a slideshow outlining the basics of AI, with links to online AI activities (approved for use in elementary school classrooms) and a Kahoot game. They can also answer questions related to our organization and its programming.
