The Food Animal Club at the Ontario Veterinary College has been formed to service veterinary students with interests in any or all of bovine, small ruminant, swine and poultry medicine. Many of our members intend to practice mixed or food animal medicine in Ontario upon graduation in the next few years. The club aims to support our student’s interests in food animal species by holding events and talks related to these industries, as well as keeping them updated with news and opportunities throughout the respective industries.

In small animal medicine animals are often brought to a clinic for veterinary care, however, food animal veterinarians typically go to the farm to provide veterinary care. This means veterinarians have to bring their supplies with them. If you are interested in learning about what the inside of a veterinarian’s truck looks like, check out the video below:

Club executive members will be hosting multiple games of food animal themed trivia using the
Kahoot platform. When trivia games are not in session, we will also be available to chat and
answer questions during the live chat windows.
